Recording Your Setup

Step 1: Document Everything

Write down what you open and in what order:

1. OBS Studio

Note window positions for each.

Step 2: Start Clean

Close all streaming-related apps. You want to record the full setup from scratch.

Step 3: Record with ClickMimic

   Drag OBS to left monitor
   Drag Chatty to overlay position
   Minimize Spotify

Click Stop when fully set up.

Step 4: Add Generous Delays

Applications need time to launch. Add delays:

Better to wait too long than interact before an app is ready.

Step 5: Test

Close everything. Run your recording. Watch for:

• Apps that aren’t ready when clicks happen
• Windows that don’t position correctly
• Login prompts you need to handle

Adjust timing and re-record problem sections.

Gaming Stream Setup

OBS → Discord → Chatty → Dashboard → Steam → [Specific Game]

Different games may need different setups. Create recordings for games you stream often.

Just Chatting Setup

OBS → Discord → Chatty → Dashboard → Spotify → Browser tabs (topics, questions)

Advanced Automation

Scheduled Pre-Stream

If you stream at the same time regularly:

• Monitor arrangement changed: Use consistent monitor setup
• Window remembers last position: Some apps reset window position; drag to correct spot in recording

Login Prompts

• Stay logged in: Most apps remember credentials
• Include login steps: If app always requires login, record the login sequence
• Use keychain: Let macOS remember passwords

• Reduce delays: Start with generous delays, then trim to minimum needed
